Contract Type: Full-time, Permanent, 37.5 hrs (Office based)

Purpose of the role:

The successful candidate will be able to work independently and as part of our Finance team, by successfully assisting with accounting tasks. The candidate should have excellent problem-solving skills and be able to demonstrate attention to detail.

Main Duties

  • Posting of company credit cards and month end reconciliations
  • Posting of purchase ledger transactions to supplier accounts
  • Creating Sales Invoices
  • Quarterly VAT returns, Intrastat and EC sales
  • Deal with custom clearance queries
  • Reconciliation of supplier accounts.
  • Assisting with monthly payment runs
  • Assisting with allocating receipts and payments and bank reconciliations
  • Supporting the preparation of management accounts and month-end duties

General

  • To deal with customer/supplier queries
  • To maintain accurate records
  • To undertake other duties as may be required within the finance team

Essential Criteria

(a) Qualifications and Experience

Applicants must have –

  • 5 GCSE or equivalent including English and Mathematics (Grade B or above)
  • 2 A levels or equivalent
  • At least 2 years’ experience working within a busy office environment
  • Familiar with Sage 50 Accounts or similar accounting program
  • Strong knowledge of MS Office Programs: Excel & Outlook including operation and maintenance of shared mailboxes.
