Purpose of the role:  The Shift Supervisor for the evening shift is responsible for overseeing production operations, ensuring efficiency, quality, and safety standards are met. This role requires strong organizational skills, effective team management, and computer skills to manage scheduling, reporting, and monitoring production data.

Key Responsibilities:

Supervision & Leadership
– Lead and motivate the evening shift team to meet production goals and maintain high-quality standards.
– Delegate tasks and assign responsibilities to team members.
– Monitor employee performance, address any issues, and provide coaching to optimise productivity.

Production & Process Management
– Ensure production schedules are met and resources are optimally allocated.
– Address any issues in production and resolve equipment or machine breakdowns.
– Continuously monitor workflow and identify areas for process improvement.

Quality Control
– Conduct regular quality checks and ensure all products meet company standards.
– Coordinate with the Production Manager for quality assurance and maintain documentation for compliance purposes.

Health & Safety Compliance
– Ensure all safety protocols are followed, and a safe working environment is maintained.
– Conduct routine safety audits and train team members on safety best practices.
– Full responsibility for locking up the premises when the shift has been completed.

Computer Skills & Reporting
– Use production software (e.g., ERP, Tag Orders, Photoshop, Inkscape, Coral Draw) to track order progress, inventory levels, and machine performance.
– Prepare daily shift reports, documenting production output, issues encountered, and any actions taken.
– Utilise Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) for reporting, scheduling, and data analysis.
– Familiarity with basic troubleshooting for production-related software and equipment.

Communication
– Relay any shift updates to incoming supervisors and relevant teams.
– Act as a liaison between team members and management, ensuring clear communication channels.

Any other duties as requested or required by the Production Manager or Senior Management Team.

Required Qualifications:

Experience: 2+ years in a supervisory role within a production or manufacturing environment.

Technical Skills:
– Proficient with production management software, basic troubleshooting, and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint). Previous experience working with Lasers and design software would be advantageous.
– Familiarity with ERP systems or any industry-specific production tracking software.

 Skills: Strong organizational and problem-solving skills, effective communication, attention to detail, and ability to work under pressure.

Working Conditions:
– Evening shift 15:30 to 00:00 (Monday to Friday).
– May require occasional overtime to meet production deadlines.
